Marble Pumpkin Bread

recipe adapted from Yvonne Ruperti Serious Eats


1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup Canola Oil

2 large eggs

1 1/12 cups pureed pumpkin (canned is fine)

1/4 tsp salt

heaping 1/4 tsp baking soda

2 cups all purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 tsp cardamon

1/2 a jar of 8 oz original Szauce


1) Adjust oven rack to middle position and pre heat oven to 350. Line a 8x4 or 9x5 loaf pan with parchment paper- if you do not have parchment grease the pan.

2) Whisk sugar, oil, pumpkin, eggs, and salt in a large bowl until combined. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom to the batter and the whisk until completely combined.

3) Spoon 2 cups of batter into the pan. Take melted szuace and drizzle onto that batter. Using a knife of small spoon swirl the batter a few times- DO NOT over swirl or the chocolate will over take the pumpkin. Add the remainder of batter on top.

4) bake about 60-75 minutes or until top is just set. The toothpick with come out with moist crumbs.  Let cool.
